A New Word
Nana – “Maybe we can stop by Walmart and pick up one of those hootchicoos.”
Evie – “How did you know that’s what it was called?”
Watch, Nana
Evie – “Nana, watch how fast I can dizzy!”
Patience
Evie – “Since I was soooo patient while you got your hair cut, that means I could go every time, right?”
Randomness
Evie was sitting in my chair playing with her tablet. Out of the blue, she says:
“Nana, is why I like to go outside is to get some fresh air. We been in the house like a million, gazillion times. I’m gonna leave my headband here so it doesn’t blow away!”
Then she walked out of the room.
Sleepy Girl
Evie’s new room is considerably darker with the purple curtains. Mama had to go wake her up this morning (after her first night in the room) so she wouldn’t sleep too late and end up going to bed too late. When Mama woke her up, she looked around and said:
“Go back to bed, Mama. It’s still too early!”
It was around 11 a.m.!
Her New Room
I redid her room. Seems like it was a hit.

The Attacking Fog
On their trip, the ‘rents see this in front of them and hear from Evie in the backseat:
“Um, guys, is it just me or is that fog heading straight for us!”

Trust Issues
Evie came to ask me if I was available to sit with her for her nap but then said:
“Actually, I think I want to go to sleep by myself.”
I said “Oh, really. Can you be trusted to go right to sleep like you’re supposed to?” Her shoulders went down and with a look of resignation on her face she says:
“OKaaay, fine. You can sit with me.”
Measurementer
We were cleaning up Evie’s room. I gave her a ruler that said Pez on it and tried to convince her it should go in the Pez bin. She said:
“No, it should go in the tools bin cuz it’s a measurementer.”
Smart kid!
