This started as stuff Evie has said that I've remembered to write down. If only I had started sooner. I've missed things like "I almost agot", "Mmmmm, goot", "Farshfellows are yummy, yummy, yummy", "All the people", "Hubba, Hubba, Hubba", "Baa Baa Boo", "Cowabunga, Dude!", "A Lion Guard Bliund Bag", "I do it", "Oh, yaaaah", "I'm a Haidband Haid", "Dey Cazzy". As of 2017, we've added stuff Andy says, too. I sometimes forget to post it before I've forgotten what they said or did so this is by no means all the funny things that have happened. And you also don't get to see the looks on their faces, the tone of voice they used or the hand gestures that go along with it. I wish I'd had something like this for my kids!
Our neighbor came over today. She came over to ask if we’d seen her cat cuz he’s been missing a few days. He’s pretty old and she thinks he’s …ahem… gone for good. We stood and talked with her a long time. She told some sweet stories about the cat and stuff. After she left, Evie gives a big sigh and says:
“Boy, we sure had a lot to talk about!”
Showed Evie this video and she said “I think he’s had too much sugar!?”
Nana – “I can’t call you Crazy Pants when you don’t have any pants on!”
Evie – “I guess you’ll just have to call me Crazy!”
We went on a walk the other day and Evie kept stopping to take photos of cats and statues and stuff with her ‘phone’.
Evie – “Look, Nana, I made a Happy Face Plate Compass!”
The cash register Evie got for Christmas has many uses. At one time it announced flights. Today it was something else. She explains:
“So this is my half baby monitor, half computer, half doggy rinser and half baby rinser.” And it shows the location of my mommy petting-giving birth zoo. I’m there right now cuz I work there.”
The thing on the left is the ‘baby scanner’ and the numbers in the display are the location of the zoo.
We were at Walmart and I asked Evie to throw away a paper and I hear:
“Nana, donde estar the trash can?”
Evie – “He’s blue and has a pink nose and he’s a Momgoose. And that’s all I know.”
We went to the library, the credit union, Denny’s, filled up my propane tank and then to Walmart today. Evie was telling the ‘rents all about her exciting day and showed them her Maple Dum Dum sucker. Dad asked if she got it at the library and she told him they don’t have suckers there. When he asked her where she got it, then, she said:
“At the credit card reunion.”
Whenever Evie’s in the bathroom now, you hear “Hello, Lion!”
