We have a plant we are caring for that we named Rosa. Today was watering day and I pointed out new growth. Evie’s response was:
“Awww, Rosa gave birth to a new baby leaf!”
This started as stuff Evie has said that I've remembered to write down. If only I had started sooner. I've missed things like "I almost agot", "Mmmmm, goot", "Farshfellows are yummy, yummy, yummy", "All the people", "Hubba, Hubba, Hubba", "Baa Baa Boo", "Cowabunga, Dude!", "A Lion Guard Bliund Bag", "I do it", "Oh, yaaaah", "I'm a Haidband Haid", "Dey Cazzy". As of 2017, we've added stuff Andy says, too. I sometimes forget to post it before I've forgotten what they said or did so this is by no means all the funny things that have happened. And you also don't get to see the looks on their faces, the tone of voice they used or the hand gestures that go along with it. I wish I'd had something like this for my kids!

Evie didn’t pick out the outfit but she did put it all on by herself, right down to getting her shoes on the right foot! She says this is her ‘kindness’ pose.

Evie – “When I have green rubber bands in my hair, my pink-tails are called green-tails.”
Evie – “These are my new BFFs!”

Evie – “Nick’s hurt! He’s got head drama!!”
Evie – “Mom Mom found me a big hunk of cheese and she let me eat it. Then a couple pieces of cheese fell out on the counter so I just went ahead on and eat them, too!”
(She has started calling her mom Mom Mom pretty much all the time now. Dad gets Dad Dad sometimes, and once in awhile I get Nan Nan but the Mom Mom bit is super cute.)
Nana – “Today’s the day your Aunt and Uncle are coming and I have to go run some errands. I’ll be back in a bit.”
Evie – “Okay, but will you save all the adventures for me?”
Evie – “I meant to say ‘Oh my gosh’ but my head kept telling me to say ‘Oh my God’!”
A week or so ago, we were discussing her Aunt and Uncle’s upcoming visit. I mentioned that I might have to pick them up at the airport and she asked if she could go. I explained how my car wasn’t very big and all their stuff might not fit in my trunk so I would probably have to take her car seat out. Today Auntie called and in the course of the conversation Evie brings up the topic of how many suitcases they were gonna bring. It was explained how it costs money to take suitcases on the plane so they were just gonna bring backpacks. Two backpacks. We finished our call and hung up and Evie says:
“You know, Nana, two backpacks would easily fit in your trunk!”
We were talking about something that Evie remembered from a long time ago. It just popped into her head and I told her how amazing it was that she still remembered that. She said:
“Yeah, it was too big for my little memory or too little for my big memory. One of the two.”
