We had a hail storm today. I took Evie outside to see and hear it and she was super excited. She then went into her room to ‘evacuate’ everyone to be sure they were all in a safe place.
This started as stuff Evie has said that I've remembered to write down. If only I had started sooner. I've missed things like "I almost agot", "Mmmmm, goot", "Farshfellows are yummy, yummy, yummy", "All the people", "Hubba, Hubba, Hubba", "Baa Baa Boo", "Cowabunga, Dude!", "A Lion Guard Bliund Bag", "I do it", "Oh, yaaaah", "I'm a Haidband Haid", "Dey Cazzy". As of 2017, we've added stuff Andy says, too. I sometimes forget to post it before I've forgotten what they said or did so this is by no means all the funny things that have happened. And you also don't get to see the looks on their faces, the tone of voice they used or the hand gestures that go along with it. I wish I'd had something like this for my kids!

Man on TV talks about Los Angeles. Evie says:
“Hey, Los Angeles is where the Kings are from!”
Evie picked out her own outfit for the first time. She’s got Nemo chonies, Dory sox, pink chucks to match the hearts on her shirt, purple pants cuz that’s Mama’s favorite color and a headband with a flower so she’d be ‘fancerific!’

When we are driving on the freeway, Evie always talks about being ‘on the top’. I guess she looks out the window and can look down off the side of the freeway and starts yelling:
“We’re ‘on the top, we’re on the top.”
She did that again today but then asked if we were actually on the top. I said not anymore so she starts yelling:
“We’re on the down, we’re on the down!”
Evie has really been coming up with quite the creations lately. Today at Story Time they had play time with various building blocks. She picked these fish things that had holes on fours side for joining together and came up with this.

Evie made this all by herself.

Yesterday some guests were here and they couldn’t come in because they were on their way to visit someone who Dad said was ‘deathly’ allergic to cats. Today Evie decided to set the table for her ‘guests’ who were ‘magically’ allergic to cats. Since the table was ‘covered with cat fur’, she put a cloth on it first, set it with plates and cups and ‘placemats’ (cards from her Bingo game) and then built a cake (out of blocks) that she put in the center. Quite a fancy 3 layer cake, I might add. If you look closely, there is an orange dot on top of the cake. That is the ‘lit’ candle (which is actually lava from a playset volcano). Pretty fantastic.

Then she told me she lit the candle with this very special candle lighter (a cocktail stir stick) that she got from her kids great, great grandma.

What an imagination!

Evie – “Next time we go on our nature walks I’m gonna take my nature hat, my binoculars and my magnifying glass so we will be repaired for nature.”
Nana – “I think you mean prepared.”
Evie – Yeah, preprared.”
Evie – “I don’t want to go to Africa. It’s very wild there and I’m too little to be eaten by a lion!”
