Today in the kitchen, I moved a chair for Evie to sit down and it ended up blocking the way she intended to go. As she’s squeezing thru the small opening she says:
“I guess I’ll have to do the get-around-invisible-chair-dancing-tango!”
This started as stuff Evie has said that I've remembered to write down. If only I had started sooner. I've missed things like "I almost agot", "Mmmmm, goot", "Farshfellows are yummy, yummy, yummy", "All the people", "Hubba, Hubba, Hubba", "Baa Baa Boo", "Cowabunga, Dude!", "A Lion Guard Bliund Bag", "I do it", "Oh, yaaaah", "I'm a Haidband Haid", "Dey Cazzy". As of 2017, we've added stuff Andy says, too. I sometimes forget to post it before I've forgotten what they said or did so this is by no means all the funny things that have happened. And you also don't get to see the looks on their faces, the tone of voice they used or the hand gestures that go along with it. I wish I'd had something like this for my kids!

When we get ready for her nap, Evie likes it when I plump up the pillow and drop it on her head. Today, as we’re getting reday, she told me she didn’t have Eyore to sleep with so I sent her off to get him. As she ran down the hall she yelled:
“Ok, but don’t put it on me until I get back!”
Evie – “Can I go along with you?”
Nana – “I don’t know if that’s such a good idea. You aren’t feeling very well.”
Evie – “Well, Mom Mom can come along and put some kleenex in her purse!”
We were outside on my patio. One of the curtains blew up and around Evie. I heard:
“Look, Nana! The curtain is hugging me!”
Evie – “I was very careful to walk around it so I wouldn’t mess it up.”
Nana – “Cuz you’re my best good girl, huh?”
Evie – “Yeah, I would never fail my Nana!”
When Evie wakes up in the morning, I always ask if she had any dreams to tell me about. Today she said she did and told me about going on a walk and seeing a deer, a bunny and a baby deer. Then she said she also had seen a baby snake. I gasped appropriately and asked if it was a nice snake. She said yes so, thinking I was passing on wisdom, I told her some snakes were nice but some were very dangerous. Her reply?
“It’s ok, Nana. This one was not venomous.”

Evie asked if she could go with me to the glasses store. I told her I didn’t think she’d like it and the following conversation took place:
Evie – “But spending time at a new place is fun.”
Nana – “But I have to talk to the people about taking my glasses back and pick out new ones and stuff. It will probably be boring.”
Evie – “Nana, again I have to say, spending time at a new place is more fun then staying home alone with Dad.”
So I took her with me to the glasses store, heheh.
Evie – “I’m having a non-remembering time today!”
Evie has a piece from a drawer organizer that I gave her a couple years ago. This is one of her ‘kids’ and it has gone thru many names and both genders. Right now ‘her’ name is Laura and when we cleaned up to come inside, I was holding ‘her’ from the top. I was roundly admonished with “Nana!!! Don’t hold her by the face?!?”
This is Laura being held by the face.
