Puttin’ On The Ritz
We watched Fred Astaire dance to Puttin’ On the Ritz this morning. The song was stuck in my head and I doo-di-dooted it to the point where you would say ‘Puttin’ On The Ritz’ and was trying to get Evie to say it. At one point I told her she was sposta say it, you know, like when we do I Lost My Tractor. So I doo-di-dooted one more time, got to the pivotal moment, pointed to her and she said:
“I lost my tractor!”
and started cracking up knowing that she’d made a really funny joke.
Thinking
Evie – “I can’t think on an empty stomach!”
Babysitting
Evie had me watch one of her babies while she and the ‘rents went to Walmart. Before she left, she brought me some stuff I’d need to take care of the babies. Pictured from left to right are a cup of ‘water’, some ‘food’, and an ‘extra bottle of water’. She put it in a ‘carrying case’ so it would be “easy to find when you need it.” (The heart is the carrying case.)

Playing Catch
Evie was eating her cupcake and I hear:
“My shoulders are playing catch with my head.”
I look over and see her doing this…
Cupcakes
Evie – “Do you want to have a cupcake with me?”
Nana – “There’s only one left. Do you want me to eat it?”
Evie – Well, I DO like cupcakes, so…maybe not!”
Budding Teacher

Babies
Evie – “I’m just so stinkin’ in love with babies right now!”

Nibbling
Evie – “I was taking little nibbles of my bread so I wouldn’t eat it all but I needed the whole thing!”
Legos
Evie – “Nana, make your hand a Lego!”
