Awestruck

Evie and I were talking about what we each had for dinner. I told her I’d had chili dogs. She commented on how she wanted that so bad then said she’d rather have chili over tots. I told her I wasn’t much of a tots fan and would rather have chili fries. The rest of the conversation went as follows:

Nana – “Oh, that reminds me. I’ve got some potatoes. I can make some fries and have them with my leftover chili.”

Evie looks at me in complete and utter amazement and says “You can make fries???”

Potatoes

Yesterday I washed some potatoes and let Andy look and touch them explaining that they were for my lunch and I needed to cut them up and cook them. Today when I came out of my room he ran over and asked “Did you cut up all the potatoes?”

Windy

Walking back to the car after dropping off Evie at school. Me and Andy were chatting away about the weather. How cold it was, how the trees were blowing. He reaches up and as he’s brushing his hair back says “My hair is windy, too!”

Say Good Night

Dad tells this story:
While doing the nightly before bed routine, Andy and Mama were reading a firetruck book I got for him. After reading and milk, Dad usually puts him to bed. When he was done reading, he took the book to Dad to show him. Dad pronounced it cool and told him to give the book back to Mama and say goodnight. He walked back over to Mama and hugged the book to say good night before giving it back to her.

Too Many

Andy and I were talking about how many toys he had out in front of him. I put up two fingers to show that he had two. He looked down at his hand, began to move his fingers around, used his other had to try and help and with some frustration looked at me, held his fingers up to show me and said “Too many!”

This was probably one of those you had to be there stories but trust me, it was really hilarious.

Babies Are Hard

Nana – “I think Blaine’s mama is gonna have another baby.”

Evie – “That will be 3 kids, then. She’s gonna need a lot of help from Blaine.”

Nana – “That’s for sure cuz I think she takes care of another kid, too.”

Evie – “You mean she’s a babysitter, too?”

Nana – “I think so.”

Evie – “OMG, she’s gonna be so stressed!”
